Questions and answers about our program

  • Season Dates

We offer three different wrestling seasons each year, a “pre-season”, the regular folkstyle season, and our freestyle season. Please check our website for exact dates each year but, in general, the pre-season begins in September, the regular season in November, and the freestyle season in April.

  • Practice Schedule

We usually practice three days a week. Depending on the season, we may train at both Boulder High School and Fairview High School but for 2023-2024 regular season we expect to train just at Boulder HS. We typically follow school schedules, so when schools are closed for holiday weeks or weather-related closures, we will not hold practice.

We strongly encourage all wrestlers to attend all practices but we do not have a mandatory attendance policy.

  • Costs

Your wrestler will need a USA Wrestling Card, which currently costs $20 per year, per wrestler.  Our club fee is $150 for the pre-season and will be $300 for the regular season (roughly $75/month). Most local tournaments are paid for by the club during the regular season and this year we’re able to provide t-shirts and wrestling singlets for free.  Your wrestler will need to buy their own wrestling shoes.  Wrestling headgear is not required.

Importantly, we offer a limited number of “scholarships” to assist with the club fee for anyone that is unable to pay the regular fees, please contact us for more information.  No child will be prevented from wrestling due to cost

  • Competitions

We plan on attending 5-6 tournaments during the regular season.  There may be optional tournaments during the pre-season.  The cost of these tournaments is covered by the club.   We expect all our wrestlers to compete in tournaments but they are not mandatory.
